Maintenance – Email authentication

Dear Customers,

This is notification that we will be performing maintenance on your server. This maintenance may impact your email upon maintenance completion, please read throughly to avoid extended downtime.

Date: September 1, 2017 from 7:00 A.M — 9:00 A.M

Outage Expected: 10-15 minutes.

Reason: Software Changes

Additional Notes:
We will be officially ending the ability to use plaintext authentication for email services. This might not affect you. However it is recommended to review the following changes to ensure your services will not be impacted.

A detailed breakdown of the changes is as follows:

Incoming e-mail
– Plaintext authentication for POP3 and IMAP will be disabled.
– Connections to the servers on ports 110 and 143 will not be allowed.
Outgoing e-mail
– E-mail clients will be required to connect with SSL or issue the STARTTLS command before being allowed to authenticate.

As a result, please review your mail clients for the following settings, adjusting as required:
IMAP Port: 993 or POP3 Port: 995
SMTP Port: 465

NOTE: Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.
